ECO CHURCH NEWS
As we start the New Year, just a short update on what we have been doing
throughout 2022 to progress towards an award.
- Introduced hymns, prayers and teaching to give thanks for God’s creation
- We have drawn up a wildlife-friendly land management plan
- Installed a bug hotel and bird bath/feeder
- Planted wild daffodils and cowslips on the field (hope they survived the drought)
- Introduced No Mow May
- Put Eco Church displays on notice boards in both halls
- Have a regular Lifestyle Tips section in the News sheet and Web Page
- Use Rainforest Alliance tea and coffee
- Gradually replace blown light bulbs with LED bulbs
- Twinned a toilet – you will soon see a certificate and photo on
the wall/door
- Installed a bicycle rack at the rear of the building
- Supported an environmental charity – La Rocha
There is much more to do, and I would like to sincerely thank the Executive Committee
for all their help and encouragement this year to get us this far.
ECO CHURCH TIPS
I will take a short break on the food tips, and do some research. I’m on a learning curve too.
I have just heard that Bennetts Farms have recently got planning permission to build a milk
bottling building to replace their container that they use at the moment. They are planning to
re-introduce GLASS milk bottles. Back to the Future folks? Remember them?
Happy New Year to everyone.
