Eco Church November 2023

ECO-CHURCH NEWS

There are new ideas and initiatives

coming at the A Rocha Eco-Church organisation.

We won’t know until next month, what they are,

but I will let you all know as soon as I know.

BIODIVERSITY AT THE MISSION

We joined the Garden Butterfly Count in June (so we missed

the Spring butterflies).  These were the species seen around the Mission in 2023.

Small White               Speckled Wood                    Gatekeeper

Large White               Peacock                                 Small Tortoiseshell

Holly Blue                  Red Admiral

It was a good year for Red Admirals all over Britain.  Butterfly Conservation Wildspaces

offers lists of tips on what to do to attract butterflies and moths to our patch to feed and

breed.  I’m drawing up a plan!  We do have lots of moths, but there are thousands of

species compared to butterflies, so lots to learn.  Looking forward to seeing the spring

butterflies in 2024.

If you want a laminated fold out butterfly identification sheet, I can recommend FSC, t

hey do identification sheets for nearly everything.  Go to www.field-studies-council.org
