Worcester Food Bank. A great big ‘thank you’ to everyone who has contributed to
the Worcester Foodbank collections. We will continue to give our ongoing support to this worthy cause.
After our last delivery, we received a letter of thanks from the Foodbank and ‘thank you’ posters which are
displayed in the entrance porch of the Mission; the main hall and the Garden Room.
The Foodbank supports local individuals and families who find themselves in crisis to help to restore them
with fresh hope for their future. In the last 12 months they have provided 3-day food parcels to feed almost
15,000 people. It’s a difficult time for everyone with increasing costs but any contribution of goods or money
is greatly appreciated. We were told by the volunteer who received our goods that donations are down but
demand is increasing.
Many thanks for your continued support. Gill

ECO-CHURCH NEWS
Bromwich Road Mission has signed up to BUTTERFLY CONSERVATION’S
Wild Spaces Campaign. We pledge to create in our grounds, a permanent
place for butterflies to feed, breed and shelter. This will involve planting the
correct plants and trees for nectar for butterflies, and food for caterpillars. Some have specific plants
without which they cannot reproduce. And also shelter to pupate (usually in the soil, under fallen
leaves or on plant stems). So new types of plants will be planted in the garden and in the long grass
at the edges of the field.
We are also involved in their Garden Butterfly Survey, in which every year, throughout the whole year,
we record what butterflies (and some day flying moths) we see in our grounds. Butterflies don’t just fly
in the summer. The only season you never used to see them was in winter, but even that has changed
due to climate change! All the data will go onto the database to assess butterfly population changes.
If you see any butterflies or moths when you are at the Mission please let me know the date you saw
them and what species they were. Many thanks.

Help Needed with Little Sunbeams Baby and Toddler Group
Can you spare some time to help with Little Sunbeams?
Between 12.45pm – 3.00pm on a Tuesday during school term time.
We need another adult or a team of adults on a rota in order to keep Little Sunbeams going.
Numbers fluctuate every week on average we have 10 – 15 adults with their babies / toddlers,
with a 50/50 split between parents and grandparents and a few carers.
We need someone who is happy to talk to the adults, make them feel welcome, make hot drinks,
and help clear away after the session.
If you are able to help please contact Meryl
