Richard Haynes' Ordination
On Saturday 24 June, I will be ordained as Deacon at Birmingham Cathedral.
This marks the beginning of a new phase of ministry in the Church of England
which will see me made a curate in the parish of Shirley serving three churches:
St James, St John's and Christ the King. My huge thanks to Bromwich Road
Mission for your support over the last few years which has included being given
the privilege of leading worship, helping me with my theological studies and
tonnes of encouragement! Although I won't be around as much as previously,
I do hope to be back with you a few times during my curacy. The Mission is
a place of joyful fellowship, faithful worship and active service; so do be
assured of my prayers as I know I can be assured of yours.
Every blessing. Richard

ECO-CHURCH NEWS
WALKING AND CYCLING
As the weather warms up, it’s worth considering what journeys
can be made by walking and cycling. Why not leave the car a
t home and stroll to your local shop/library/hairdressers, etc? Take
a relaxing stroll to visit a friend/or walk home from work? Hop on a bike and enjoy a
cycle friendly route. I know many of you have been doing this for years, but some
may not have considered it. Walking and cycling is good for your health, saves petrol
and is good for the environment. Three wins!!! If you like rambling, but are less able
, then go to the Miles Without Stiles website, or Worcestershire County Council
web site and follow the Easy Access Walks section for lots of local walks and maps.
Finally, if you live nearby, you could walk or cycle to the Mission on Sunday’s. W
e have bicycle racks at the rear of the building. Enjoy the summer! Susan Garfield ******************************************************************************
