Reflection for 25th June

PAUSE FOR THOUGHT – 25TH JUNE

Hello Friends

Today’s reading is:  Corinthians 12: v4-6

“There are different kinds of spiritual gifts, but the same Spirit gives them.  There are different ways of serving, but the same Lord is served.  There are different abilities to perform service, but the same God gives ability to everyone for their particular service.”

This reading tells us that we don’t have to have a very important job to do, to serve God.  Sometimes the smallest, unseen or least important job, can be very important in the scheme of things.

In church examples are:  cleaning (especially now), maintaining the building, the outside areas, phoning people to see if they are OK, etc.,   I could go on.

Outside church examples are:  keeping an eye on neighbours, picking up litter on walks, taking pastoral letters to isolated members, etc.

Just because you don’t have a big job, doesn’t mean it doesn’t count!  Being a Christian is all about Community.  So that little thing you do, may be very important!
