ECO CHURCH NEWS
1st September – 4th October is the Season of
Creation/Creationtide. This is the time each year when
Christians around the world reflect on the glory of creation
and our place in it. This year’s theme is “Peace with
Creation”. At the Mission we are starting the season off with a
Creationtide Bring and Share Tea Service on 31st August at 3.30pm
in the Garden Room.
1st September is worldwide day of prayer for the earth. So we are
holding our monthly Prayer Meeting on that day at 10.30am, in the
Prayer Room.
On Monday 8th September our Eco-Church group are meeting to
PLAN small jobs for the wildlife in the Mission’s grounds. This starts
at 10.30am in the Garden Room. Do come along, even if you can
only do one small job. We hope to have the planning meetings
quarterly – one for each season throughout the year.
Finally, Creationtide closes on the 4th October which is St Francis of
Assisi Day, the Patron Saint of Ecology. So remember to read up
about his life and service to mankind and all living creatures!
