ECO CHURCH NEWS
We had our first Eco-Church Wildlife Group meeting and
have plans for the enhancement of our grounds for
wildlife. This ties in with trends nationally for churchyards
and church gardens to become more ecologically
beneficial for wildlife and humans. More details to follow later.
27th November – 5th December is National Tree Week. Organised
by The Tree Council to spread awareness of trees, climate change,
air quality, and habitat. Not to mention well-being, shade and beauty.

World-wide, trees provide shade, food, oils for cooking and soap,
timber and firewood. In Africa (especially sub-Saharan areas), trees
provide much needed food and income. I remember Alfred gave a
talk about the Meringa tree, which is a good example. If you would
like to find out more go to treeaid.org,uk
Locally there is the Heart of England Forest on the
Warwickshire/Worcestershire borders. Well worth a visit if you can.
www.heartofenglandforest.org.uk. Finally, there is The Woodland
Trust website to have a look at www.woodlandtrust.org.uk.
Do get out and about and enjoy the autumn colours at the moment
both leaves and berries, trees are wonderful!
Blessings Sue Garfield
